FOSTERING VIRTUE & CHARACHTER
Education in Virtue:
A Holistic Approach to Student Formation

The Education in Virtue Portal
Digital Academy offers an Education in Virtue portal featuring pre-built lessons that explain the importance of educating in virtue and provide a comprehensive approach to doing so. The lessons also explore each of the major virtues in the EIV program: Faith, Hope, Charity, Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, and Temperance.
Virtue Certificates & Reports
One way to create a culture of virtue in families and schools is by recognizing and celebrating acts of virtue, such as through a Virtue Certificate. When students face challenges in forming good habits or breaking old ones, conversations can focus on explaining a specific virtue and identifying it as a better choice for the future, along with setting it as a virtuous goal to practice. To make this goal more concrete, a Virtue Report can be used to designate a specific virtue as an area of growth. These reports are not intended to be disciplinary or conduct-based, but rather a part of a coaching approach, offering guidance toward building positive habits.
The Disciples of Christ Virtue Certificate and Virtue Report facilitate communication between home and school, promoting a shared culture of virtue in the lives of students and everyone involved.
